Introducing the

Community Access Station.

The Community Access Station is a dedicated computer located at The Pokagon Fund’s offices. It is available for organizations seeking funding for charitable purposes that benefit communities within The Pokagon Fund’s service area. The Station provides access to Candid Search, a powerful tool for researching funders and nonprofits. Internet access is also available so users can explore additional funding opportunities and resources.

To help you get started, The Pokagon Fund staff can connect you with Candid’s introductory videos and other learning tools designed to help you use these resources effectively.

Organizations that can

Benefit from the Station.

Any nonprofit organization working to advance a charitable purpose within The Pokagon Fund's service area can use the Community Access Station to:

  • Identify funding opportunities to implement priorities emerging from a strategic planning process.
  • Research how organizations with similar missions are funded and discover new grant prospects.
  • Prepare for a capital campaign or major organizational initiative.
  • Secure funding to expand services or reach underserved populations.
  • Explore support for new programs that address demonstrated community needs.
  • Research donor-advised funds and other philanthropic opportunities for one-time, recurring, or major gifts.
  • Build staff and board capacity through training resources focused on grant writing, fundraising, nonprofit management, and impact measurement.

The Community Access Station is available to all eligible nonprofit organizations, regardless of whether they have previously received funding from The Pokagon Fund.

 

 

Accessing the Station:

What You Need to Know.

The Community Access Station is available by appointment at The Pokagon Fund offices, located at 821 E. Buffalo Street, New Buffalo, Michigan 49117.

Appointments may be scheduled during regular business hours. Limited evening and other non-business-hour appointments may also be available to accommodate volunteers, board members, and others with fundraising or organizational responsibilities.

Before using the Station, the designated user and the organization's Executive Director, Chief Executive Officer, or Board Chair must review and agree to the Community Access Station Terms and Conditions. The agreement form is AVAILABLE HERE.
