Community Access Station

Featuring Candid's Foundation Directory and GuideStar

Introducing the Community Access Station.

The Community Access Station is a dedicated computer located at The Pokagon Fund’s offices. It is available for organizations seeking funding for charitable purposes that benefit communities within The Pokagon Fund’s service area. (See more about our service area on The Pokagon Fund’s History page.)

The station provides access to Candid’s Foundation Directory Online (FDO), GuideStar, and Candid Learning. Internet access is also available so users can explore additional funding opportunities and resources.

To help you get started, The Pokagon Fund staff can connect you with Candid’s introductory videos and other learning tools designed to help you use these resources effectively.

Any nonprofit organization seeking funding to advance a charitable purpose within The Pokagon Fund’s service area may benefit from using the Community Access Station to…

  • Identify funding for new programming outlined in a recently adopted strategic plan
  • Research how similar organizations in other communities are funded and explore additional funding sources
  • Plan or support a capital campaign
  • Find funding to expand services for an underserved population
  • Explore funding for a new program that addresses a demonstrated community need
  • To connect with decision-makers of donor advised funds for one-time, sustaining, or major gifts
  • To strengthen staff or board skills in proposal writing, nonprofit management, or impact measurement.

It is not a requirement that the project or the organization have been awarded a grant by The Pokagon Fund.
